FC Barcelona have had trouble finding the back of the net this season as one of their most prolific goal scorer, Robert Lewandowski, has been underperforming.
The Polish striker has only managed to strike twice in the last 10 games with the Catalan club, increasing the worries of head coach Xavi Hernandez who aims to win his second league title.
Ferran Torres enjoyed a great start to the season but has not been getting the minutes and even when he does it is often at a position that is not his most preferred one — left wing.
According to a reliable Spanish news outlet Diario AS, Torres’ entourage doesn’t have the most pleasant relationship with Xavi and his staff as they feel that the former Manchester City player is not entirely trusted by them.
Despite his good form and positive cameos, the Spaniard has struggled to find consistent minutes which has caused trouble as the right-footed footballer believes he should be getting more minutes.
Vitor Roque, a Brazilian youngster, has already bid farewell to his current club Athletico Paranaense as the 18-year-old is set to join FC Barcelona in January.
With Roque’s arrival, Torres is expecting to fall down the pecking order, which may force the 23-year-old to call time on his career with the Blaugrana in order to find consistent playing time elsewhere.
Torres is not a regular starter at the club and Barcelona would not block his move. The club is already going through financial troubles and his departure would bring some cash and also ease their wage bill as the right-footed forward is on €10m-per-year salary.
It is worth mentioning that Ferran Torres was linked to a move but the forward decided to stay and fight for his place.
He completed his move to the Blaugrana club in December 2021 on a five-year deal after spending just 12 months with the Manchester club.
